ChemCaper is a Chemistry Adventure game. This game brings out the fun in Chemistry and takes the dread out of learning.
I was tasked to revamp the entire game’s UI and UX including the game’s App icon. With this in mind, I conceptualised the art direction of the game. In the end, I proposed “fun”, “playful”, and “magical” as the art direction as it represented the game the best and boded well for it as the target audience are young kids from the age of 10-14. Some of the mock designs that I proposed (images on the right).
The inspiration of the UI design such as Battle Formation screen, Inventory screen and etc, came from the characteristics of Roub, the main character in ChemCaper. Such as his skin colour and the Moon Ring behind his back.
Leading a group of 4, we executed this project in 1 month. Managing the work distribution, flow and timeline, this project provided me the opportunity to not only hone my design and illustration skills, but also grow to be a better leader, exceeding project expectations, and also maneuver through the tight project timeline to meet deadlines.
